Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom, Surrey, the daughter of Josephine, a laboratory technician and John Ormond, a stockbroker. She is the second of five children to her parents. She was educated in private schools, at first Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School, where early stage performances like Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady started to attract attention. After a year in arts college, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She graduated in 1988. Ormond made her debut appearance on British TV's 1989 show Traffik. It was about illicit heroin trade between the far East and the streets of Europe. Ormond played the drug addicted daughter of the main character, who was a Home Office minister in the UK government fighting heroin importation. It was the first time Ormond had a role and received rave reviews.
